Chillerama is a horror comedy anthology film featuring four segments, each paying tribute to different eras of horror films. The framing device for the film is that it takes place on the closing night of the last drive-in theater in America, and the owner, Cecil B. Kaufman, is screening four rare and forgotten horror films for his loyal patrons.
The first segment, Wadzilla, is a spoof of 1950s creature features and tells the story of a man who becomes a giant sperm after undergoing an experimental fertility treatment.
The second segment, Deathecation, is a tribute to 1960s and 70s exploitation films and centers on a group of teenagers who contract a deadly STD after having sex in a haunted porta-potty.
The third segment, The Diary of Anne Frankenstein, pays homage to classic Universal horror films and tells the story of a mad scientist who creates a monster out of the body parts of Holocaust victims.
The final segment, Zom-B-Movie, is a parody of 1980s zombie movies and follows a group of survivors as they try to escape a movie theater overrun by the undead.
Chillerama features a talented cast of horror and comedy actors, including Kane Hodder, Joel David Moore, and Lin Shaye. It was directed by Adam Rifkin, Joe Lynch, Tim Sullivan, and Adam Green, each responsible for one of the four segments. The film was released in 2011 to mixed reviews, but has gained a cult following among horror fans who enjoy its unique blend of humor and gore.
