Chemical Hearts is a coming-of-age drama film that follows Henry Page, a high school senior who has never been in love, until the new transfer student, Grace Town, walks into his life. While working on the school's newspaper together, Henry becomes infatuated with Grace, but soon learns that she is still reeling from a tragic event that has left her emotionally unavailable.
Despite this, Henry remains determined to get to know Grace and unravel the mystery behind her sadness. As they spend more time together, Henry begins to understand that love isn't always easy and sometimes, it can be messy.
The film explores themes of first love, grief, and self-discovery as Henry navigates his feelings for Grace while also dealing with his own insecurities and fears about the future. As the school year comes to an end, Henry and Grace are forced to confront their feelings for each other and the lessons they've learned about love and loss along the way.
Chemical Hearts stars Austin Abrams as Henry Page and Lili Reinhart as Grace Town, and is based on the novel "Our Chemical Hearts" by Krystal Sutherland. The film was directed by Richard Tanne and was released on Amazon Prime Video in August 2020.
