The Argentine, which is the first part of the two-part movie Che, chronicles the early stages of the Cuban Revolution and the rise of Che Guevara as a revolutionary leader. After landing in Cuba, Che and his comrades face many challenges, including lack of resources, poor health conditions, and fierce opposition from the Batista government.
Despite these setbacks, Che and his fellow revolutionaries gain support from the Cuban people by providing education, healthcare, and other social services. They also stage guerrilla attacks on Batista's troops and gradually weaken his hold on power.
As the revolution gains momentum, Che emerges as a charismatic and dedicated leader, admired by his comrades and the Cuban people. His military tactics, combined with his ideological vision of a socialist Cuba, inspire many to join the struggle.
The film concludes with the triumphant victory of the revolutionaries in 1959 and their establishment of a new socialist government in Cuba. However, it also hints at the challenges that lie ahead, as Che and his comrades face significant opposition from the United States and other capitalist powers.
