Chatterbox! is a 1977 comedy film directed by Tom DeSimone. The movie follows the story of a woman named Penelope (Candice Rialson) who works as a humble hairdresser in a small beauty salon in Los Angeles. One day, while undergoing a pelvic exam at the doctor's office, Penelope discovers that her vagina can talk. Shocked, Penelope consults with her friend and gynaecologist, Dr. Pearl (Jane Kean), who confirms that her anatomy is indeed possessed with a sassy personality and a fondness for making wise cracks.

Penelope initially tries to keep her newfound ability hidden, but word soon spreads and she becomes a popular attraction in the city's entertainment scene. She begins performing stand-up comedy shows at a local nightclub and is soon discovered by a talent agent named Michael (Larry Gelman). Michael sees potential in Penelope's unique talent and convinces her to sign with him, promising to make her a star.

As Penelope's career takes off, she finds herself increasingly at odds with her live-in boyfriend Ted (Perry Bullington), who becomes increasingly jealous of the attention she's receiving. She also attracts the unwanted attention of a lecherous TV host who offers to put her on his show in exchange for sexual favours.

As Penelope's fame grows, she realizes that her talking vagina is causing her more harm than good and that she wants to remove it. She consults with Dr. Pearl, who agrees to perform the surgery, but soon discovers that removing the talking vagina is not as easy as it seems.

Chatterbox! is a playful and irreverent comedy that explores themes of female sexuality, gender identity, and the nature of fame. The film is notable for its frank depiction of female genitalia, which was considered controversial at the time of its release. Despite mixed critical reception, Chatterbox! has become a cult classic and is considered a landmark of feminist cinema.
