Chasing Comets follows the story of Chase Daylight (played by Dan Ewing), a talented Rugby League player who is struggling to keep his dreams alive and balance his personal life. He has a rocky relationship with his girlfriend, Brooke (played by Isabel Lucas), who is tired of his partying ways and doesn't believe in his potential as a professional athlete.
After a fight with Brooke, Chase decides to take a break from Rugby League and pursue another sport, AFL. He joins the local Wagga Wagga team, the Rockets, and meets his new coach, Sam (played by Stan Walker), who becomes a mentor and father figure to him.
Chase faces several challenges in his new team, as some of the players are not happy with his lack of commitment and partying habits. He also struggles to adjust to the new sport and the different playing style. On top of that, he finds himself attracted to the Rockets' physiotherapist, Carly (played by Erin Connor), which creates more complications for him.
