Holden, a comic book writer, and his best friend and business partner, Banky, attend a comic book convention, where they meet the talented Alyssa Jones. Alyssa and Holden instantly hit it off and begin spending time together. Holden becomes infatuated with her and asks her out on a date. Alyssa agrees, but soon reveals that she is a lesbian.
Despite her sexual orientation, Holden and Alyssa become close friends, spending time together and bonding over their shared love of comic books. Holden, however, still harbors feelings for Alyssa and is unable to shake them off.
One night, Holden and Alyssa end up sleeping together, which causes complications in their friendship and Alyssa's relationship with her girlfriend. Holden also struggles with his own insecurities and jealousy.
Throughout the movie, the characters explore themes of sexual identity, sexual orientation, and relationships. Holden must come to terms with his feelings and accept that he cannot change Alyssa's sexual orientation. The film ends with Holden and Alyssa having a heart-to-heart, and Holden letting go of his romantic feelings for her.
