Charade is a 1963 American romantic comedy thriller film directed by Stanley Donen, starring Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn. It also features Walter Matthau, James Coburn, George Kennedy, Dominique Minot, Ned Glass, and Jacques Marin.
The film's plot centers around Regina Lampert, who returns to Paris after a skiing trip, only to find that her husband Charles has been murdered and the police are searching for a missing quarter of a million dollars Charles supposedly stole. As it turns out, Charles had stolen the money along with three other men during World War II, and they have all now come to Paris to claim their share of the loot.
Enter Peter Joshua, a mysterious and charming stranger who seems to be helping Regina but may have his own agenda. Along the way, they encounter a series of dangerous and unpredictable characters, including Tex, Scobie, and Gideon, who will stop at nothing to get their hands on the money.
As Regina and Peter race against time to uncover the truth and outwit their pursuers, they must also confront their growing attraction to each other and the possibility that things are not quite as they seem.
