Cemetery Man, originally titled Dellamorte Dellamore in Italian, is a 1994 dark comedy-horror film directed by Michele Soavi and written by Gianni Romoli. The film stars Rupert Everett as Francesco Dellamorte, the cemetery keeper, and his assistant Gnaghi, played by François Hadji-Lazaro. Dellamorte is a typically desensitized and disillusioned horror movie protagonist, carrying out his gruesome duties with great efficiency. However, he soon becomes entranced with "She", played by Anna Falchi, and their relationship becomes increasingly complicated as the dead continue to rise from their graves and must be dealt with.
Throughout the film, we follow Francesco's experiences with his daily duties at the cemetery, killing the reanimated corpses, and, in some cases, struggling with the consequences of his actions. He is often tired of the routine and questions the purpose of it all, but finds solace in his relationship with She. However, his feelings for her are complicated as he slowly discovers that her appearances are only temporary and that she does not remember their previous encounters.
