Cash on Demand is a 1961 British crime thriller film directed by Quentin Lawrence and starring Peter Cushing and André Morell. The film is based on the play The Gold Inside by Jacques Gillies, which was adapted for the screen by David T. Chantler.

The movie takes place at the fictional City Coin Bank, where bank manager Harry Fordyce (played by Morell) is taken hostage by charming criminal Colonel Gore Hepburn (played by Cushing). Hepburn is a meticulous planner and demands that Harry follow his instructions to the letter or else his wife and children will be harmed.

Hepburn's plan is simple but cunning - he wants to steal 97,000 pounds from the bank, which he believes rightfully belongs to him due to a past injustice. He forces Harry to follow his every command, such as lying to the bank staff and customers, and eventually, stealing the money and handing it over to him.

As the tension builds, Harry realizes that Hepburn may not actually intend to let him, his family, or the bank staff live. With the help of his secretary and a quick-thinking teller, Harry must attempt to outsmart Hepburn and foil his plan before it's too late.

Cash on Demand is known for its suspenseful plot and brilliant performances by Morell and Cushing. It has been praised for its innovative storytelling and the way it keeps the audience on the edge of their seats until the very end. The film has also been compared to the classic Hitchcock film, Dial M for Murder.
