In Cars, Lightning McQueen is a flashy and overconfident race car who believes that winning is everything. He is on his way to the prestigious Piston Cup Championship when he gets lost and finds himself in the rundown town of Radiator Springs. There, he meets a cast of characters including a rusty tow truck named Mater, a sleek Porsche named Sally, and the wise and fatherly Doc Hudson.
At first, Lightning is eager to leave Radiator Springs and continue his journey to the championship, but he is soon forced to stay when he accidentally damages the town's main road.
