Carnosaur is a 1993 science fiction horror film directed by Adam Simon and Darren Moloney. The story is based on the novel "Carnosaur" by Harry Adam Knight. The film stars Diane Ladd, Raphael Sbarge, and Jennifer Runyon.

The film is set in a small town in the United States where a secret genetic lab is conducting experiments on creating superior forms of life. The chief scientist, Dr. Jane Tiptree (Diane Ladd), has developed a virus that can bring back extinct species. She believes that it is time for humans to go extinct and that dinosaurs should take over as the dominant species on the planet.

When a shipment of eggs arrives at the lab, one of the eggs hatches and a baby velociraptor escapes. It begins to grow rapidly and starts killing the lab employees. The dinosaur virus starts spreading, and soon the town is overrun by a variety of dinosaurs, including the T-Rex.

Dr. Tiptree tries to stop the dinosaurs from escaping and spreading the virus, but she is too late. The military arrives to contain the situation, but they are unable to stop the dinosaurs. A group of survivors, including the lab technician, the sheriff, and a scientist, must find a way to stop the dinosaurs and prevent the virus from spreading.

The film features some graphic scenes of dinosaur attacks, and the special effects are a mix of practical effects and stop-motion animation. The film received mixed reviews upon its release but has since gained a cult following. It spawned two sequels, "Carnosaur 2" in 1995 and "Carnosaur 3: Primal Species" in 1996.
