After escaping the border guard and Aidan, Carmen is left alone and stranded in the harsh terrain of the Arizona desert. With no food or water, she must navigate the treacherous landscape and evade the dangerous wildlife. Along the way, she meets a group of fellow immigrants who have also fled their homes in search of a better life in the US.
As Carmen and the group make their way towards a nearby town, they are pursued by the border patrol and the vigilante group that the border guard belonged to. Along the way, Carmen must confront her own demons and come to terms with the trauma of losing her mother.
As the group reaches the town, they discover that it is run by a corrupt sheriff who is in league with the vigilantes. Carmen rallies her fellow immigrants and leads them in a fight for their rights and their freedom. With the help of Aidan, who has now joined their cause, they are able to expose the corruption and bring the sheriff and his cronies to justice.
In the end, Carmen and the other immigrants are granted asylum in the US and are able to start new lives, free from violence and oppression. The film ends with Carmen looking back at the border and the harsh landscape beyond, knowing that she has overcome incredible odds and found a new home in a new land.
