Caretakers follows the story of a young medical student named George (played by George Loomis). George is assigned to care for the former US Ambassador to Syria, Julia (played by Vivica A. Fox) who has retired to a remote country estate. George is initially excited about the job as it provides him with an opportunity to increase his medical knowledge, but he soon realizes that there's more to Julia's condition than meets the eye.
As George becomes more entrenched in Julia's care, he starts to uncover a web of secrets and lies surrounding her past. Julia's daughter, Gail (played by Missi Pyle), is unhappy with the situation and tries to thwart George's attempts to help her mother. At the same time, George develops feelings for a local nurse named Karen (played by Karen Sillas) who seems to be hiding something of her own.
As the mystery deepens, George finds himself in danger, and he must use all his medical knowledge and cunning to uncover the truth before it's too late. Along the way, he discovers that the people he thought he could trust are not always what they seem, and that nothing is as it appears in this gripping thriller.
Caretakers is directed by George Loomis and also features Christopher Cousins, Laura Leighton, Josh Coxx, and Tremayne 'Trey' Norris in supporting roles. The film was released in 2019 and has received praise for its intense plot and strong performances.
