Captive State is a science fiction movie set in a dystopian version of Chicago, where humanity has lost a war against mysterious aliens known as "the Legislators". The movie explores the lives of those living under the occupation, both those who collaborate with the aliens and those who resist.
The main character is Gabriel Drummond (played by Ashton Sanders), a young man whose parents died during the initial invasion. He has a strained relationship with his older brother Rafe (Jonathan Majors), a member of the resistance who wants Gabriel to join their cause.

As the story unfolds, Gabriel is caught between the two sides of the conflict, trying to find his own way in a world where everything is controlled by the aliens. Meanwhile, Mulligan and the resistance each have their own plans to try to take back control of the city from their extraterrestrial overlords.
The movie is a tense and thought-provoking exploration of power, resistance, and collaboration in the face of unimaginable oppression.
