Can't Buy Me Love is a classic 1980s teen romantic comedy film that stars Patrick Dempsey as Ronald Miller and Amanda Peterson as Cindy Mancini. The movie was directed by Steve Rash and written by Michael Swerdlick.

Ronald is a geeky high school student who dreams of being popular. When he saves Cindy from getting grounded by her mother for ruining an expensive outfit, he sees an opportunity to make his dream come true. He offers to pay for the outfit if Cindy agrees to pretend to be his girlfriend for a month.

At first, Cindy agrees to the deal reluctantly, but as the two spend more time together, she starts to see Ronald in a different light. Ronald, in turn, starts to become more confident as he gains popularity and begins to develop a crush on Cindy.

As the romantic tension builds between Ronald and Cindy, the two start to find themselves in increasingly complicated situations, while they try to navigate their feelings for each other and maintain their faux-relationship. Meanwhile, Ronald's former best friend, Kenneth, sees the change in Ronald's reputation and becomes jealous, causing tensions to rise between the two.

In the end, Ronald learns that popularity and success are not everything, and that true happiness comes from being true to oneself. The movie ends with Ronald and Cindy confessing their feelings for each other and officially starting a relationship, while Ronald reconciles with Kenneth.
