When Julia arrives in North Falls, she is greeted warmly by her family and childhood friends. However, her mood quickly sours when she learns that Parker, who is now a successful businessman in town, is also back for the holidays.
Julia and Parker's rivalry dates back to their high school days, where they were both involved in a heated race for senior class president. Parker had won the race with a slim margin, leaving Julia bitter and resentful.
Despite their differences, Julia and Parker are thrown together in several holiday events, and they begin to develop a grudging respect for one another. As they work on community projects together, they realize that they share a common goal of wanting to make North Falls a better place.
As Christmas approaches, Julia and Parker's newfound friendship is tested when they both decide to run for the same position on the town council. In a heated debate, they both present their visions for the future of North Falls, leaving the town torn between the two candidates.
In the end, Julia narrowly edges out Parker in the election, but she realizes that winning isn't everything. She celebrates her victory with her loved ones but also extends a hand of friendship to Parker, acknowledging that they both have a lot to offer their community.
