Calm Before is a drama film that centers around Robert and Lily, a couple who have been married for 10 years and are on the brink of divorce. In an attempt to save their marriage, they plan a weekend getaway to their lake house to celebrate their anniversary.
However, things take a turn for the worse when they become trapped at the lake house due to a severe storm. As they wait for the storm to pass, they are forced to confront their deepest fears and insecurities, both real and imaginary.
Robert, a successful businessman, is haunted by his past mistakes and is struggling to come to terms with the fact that his marriage is falling apart. Lily, on the other hand, is dealing with unresolved trauma from her childhood and is afraid of being vulnerable with her husband.
As they spend more time together, they begin to open up to each other and slowly start to work through their issues. However, as the storm intensifies and strange things start to happen around the lake house, their fears and insecurities become even more heightened, pushing them to their breaking point.
