By Dawn follows the story of John, a former marine who is haunted by the memories of his past experiences in the military. He suffers from severe PTSD, which makes it difficult for him to adjust to civilian life. When an alien invasion threatens the planet, John becomes obsessed with preparing his family for war in order to protect them.
As the deadline for the invasion approaches, John's paranoia and anxiety escalate, causing a rift between him and his wife, Sarah. While she tries to maintain some semblance of normalcy and protect their children, John's preparations become increasingly extreme and dangerous.
As the invasion begins, John's military training and skills become invaluable in the fight against the aliens. However, his PTSD and past trauma continue to haunt him, making every battle a struggle for survival.
By Dawn showcases the intense psychological toll that war and trauma can have on individuals, as well as the lengths that people will go to protect their loved ones in times of crisis.
