In Busy Bodies, Laurel and Hardy are working as laborers at a sawmill. The film follows their attempts to do their job, but they are constantly facing obstacles and causing chaos.
At the beginning of the film, Laurel accidentally hits Hardy with a two-by-four, setting the stage for their troubled day. They then struggle to load logs onto a conveyor belt, resulting in a pileup that causes mayhem. They also repeatedly clash with their abrasive co-worker, played by Charlie Hall.
One of the film's most memorable scenes involves Laurel and Hardy attempting to move a large piece of lumber via a primitive conveyor belt system. The belt malfunctions, sending the lumber crashing through the shed and causing total destruction.
Later in the film, Laurel and Hardy find themselves in a slapstick battle with a large piece of machinery, which seems to come to life and fight back against them. The film's climax involves a high-speed chase through the sawmill, as Laurel and Hardy try to avoid getting caught by their boss, played by Tiny Sandford.
Throughout the movie, Laurel and Hardy's physical comedy and chemistry make for a hilarious and entertaining viewing experience.
