The two main characters of Burnt Money are El Nene, played by Leonardo Sbaraglia, and Angel, played by Eduardo Noriega. El Nene is the tough and street-smart leader of the criminal duo, while Angel is the more sensitive and introspective member of the pair. The two men behind the heist became known as "Los Mellizos" (The Twins) due to their uncanny resemblance to each other, and the media frenzy surrounding their capture and trial was intense.
