Burning Kiss

Thriller  N/A

Burning Kiss is a 2018 independent film directed by Robbie Studsor. The story follows a father-daughter duo who live an idyllic life in a remote coastal town. The father, a former private investigator, now makes a living as a fire investigator, while his daughter is a musician. Their peaceful existence is disrupted when a mysterious stranger arrives in town, looking for the father's assistance in solving a personal mystery.

As the father and daughter try to help the stranger, they realize that he may not be who he seems to be and that his presence is linked to their past. As they dig deeper into the stranger's mystery, secrets from their own past begin to unravel, and the relationship between the father and the daughter becomes strained.

The film is shot in a neo-noir style, with dreamlike sequences and saturated colors. The soundtrack features original music by the lead actress, Alyson Walker, whose character's story arc involves her navigating her artistic aspirations while trying to rebuild her relationship with her father.

Burning Kiss has been described as a genre-bending film, with elements of crime drama, psychological thriller, and surrealism. It premiered at the 2018 Melbourne Underground Film Festival and has since screened at several other international film festivals.
