Burning Blue is a drama film directed by DMW Greer and based on the stage play by DMW Greer. The film revolves around the lives of four naval aviators - Dan, Will, Matt, and Eric - who are stationed aboard an Aircraft Carrier. They are considered the best of the best and are highly respected by their peers.

However, when two of their own die in separate aircraft accidents, a government inquiry is launched, and a special agent, Lt. Nathaniel Perry, is sent to investigate. His job is to find out what caused the fatal crashes and prevent another one from happening.

As he investigates, Perry discovers that there may be more to the accidents than meets the eye. He begins to suspect that the aviators' relationships may have played a role in the mishaps. Specifically, he learns that one of the fighter pilots, Matt, and three of his squadron mates, Will, Dan, and Eric, are all involved in a secret homosexual relationship.

As they are stationed aboard a military vessel, their relationship is not only against military policy but is viewed as an affront to traditional values and morals. It is therefore highly unlikely that their relationship will be tolerated by their superiors and peers in any way.

A deadly witch hunt ensues, and the four aviators and their spouses find themselves embroiled in a web of jealousy and deceit. Their love and friendship are put to the ultimate test as they struggle to keep their relationship under wraps while also dealing with the investigation into the airplane accidents.

Despite the risks involved and the potential ramifications, the four aviators refuse to deny their love for one another and are willing to fight for their right to be together. The film explores themes of friendship, loyalty, courage, and the nature of love against the backdrop of a rigid and repressive military establishment.

In short, Burning Blue is an emotional drama that highlights the injustice inflicted upon the homosexual community, as the movie offers a sensitive portrayal of the inner turmoil that people may face in understanding their sexuality.
