Buried Alive begins with a group of college students looking for a place to party. As they explore an abandoned house, they discover a hidden trapdoor leading to a basement. The students decide to explore the basement and discover a mysterious coffin. They open the coffin, which releases an evil spirit that had been dormant for many years.
As they party, the students begin to experience supernatural events and are quickly terrorized by the spirit. They are trapped in the house and unable to leave as the evil force grows stronger by the minute. The students soon realize that their prank has awakened an ancient curse and that they must find a way to stop it before it claims them all.
The spirit is revealed to be the vengeful ghost of a woman who was murdered in the house years ago. She is seeking revenge on those who wronged her and will stop at nothing to get it. The students must confront their fears and work together to find a way to defeat the spirit and put the curse to rest.
