As Agnes and Peter's relationship deepens, Peter becomes convinced that he has been infected with bugs that are living inside his body. Agnes, initially sceptical, starts to believe him as she begins to experience strange physical sensations and hallucinations.
As Peter's paranoia grows, he becomes convinced that the bugs are part of a government conspiracy to control their minds. He becomes increasingly erratic and violent, driving Agnes to question his sanity and the reality of the situation.
Meanwhile, Agnes' ex-husband Jerry reappears, threatening to take her back by force. The tension escalates as Jerry's presence triggers Peter's delusions and Agnes' fear of being trapped in another abusive relationship.
