The movie follows the story of Deborah McCoy (Yvonne De Carlo), a beautiful singer in New Orleans who becomes entangled with the infamous pirate Jean Lafitte (Philip Friend). Lafitte is the Pirate Lord of Barataria Bay and is known for his swashbuckling adventures on the high seas.
Deborah is initially hesitant to become involved with Lafitte, as she fears his dangerous lifestyle and criminal activities. However, she eventually falls in love with him and becomes embroiled in his world of piracy and intrigue.
