Brotherhood of Blades is a Chinese historical action drama film directed by Lu Yang. The movie is set during the Ming dynasty and follows three Jinyiwei guards who are sent on a mission to hunt down Wei Zhongxian, a corrupt eunuch who was once a powerful political figure in the imperial court and has been exiled from the capital. The Jinyiwei brothers, Shen Lian (played by Chang Chen), Lu Jianxing (played by Wang Qianyuan), and Jin Yichuan (played by Li Dongxue), successfully capture Wei and bring him back to Beijing.
However, upon their return, they discover that their mission was just the beginning of a complex conspiracy involving the imperial court, a secret society, and powerful officials. The trio must navigate the dangerous political landscape to uncover the truth behind the conspiracy and protect themselves from being implicated in the plot.
Brotherhood of Blades features stunning action sequences, intricate plotting, and rich character development, offering a compelling and entertaining glimpse into the intrigues and power struggles of the Ming dynasty.
