Drama,Thriller  Russia,United States of America

Brother 2 is a 2000 Russian crime drama film, directed and co-written by Aleksei Balabanov. It is a sequel to Brother, released in 1997. The film stars Sergey Bodrov Jr. in the lead role of Danila, a young and loyal soldier who returns to Moscow after fighting in the First Chechen War.

The movie begins with Danila arriving in Moscow and reuniting with his friend Konstantin (played by Viktor Sukhorukov). Konstantin tells Danila that his twin brother, Dmitry, has been tricked into signing a crooked contract with an American ice hockey team, owned by a Russian mafia boss named Oleg (played by Kirill Pirogov). Konstantin asks Danila to look into the matter.

Before Danila can take any action, Konstantin is killed in an apparent accident. Danila is convinced that his friend's death was not accidental, and he sets out to investigate. He discovers that Konstantin was killed by Oleg's henchmen. Danila vows to take revenge on them and their bosses.

Danila travels to Chicago, where he discovers the truth about his brother's situation and decides to take matters into his own hands. He infiltrates Oleg's organization and carries out his revenge, but not before forming an unexpected friendship with an African American hitman named Denny (played by Gary Houston).

The film explores themes of loyalty, brotherhood, and revenge, and showcases the political and social upheaval in Russia during the post-Soviet era. The movie features a haunting and memorable score by the Russian rock band Nautilus Pompilius. Brother 2 was a critical and commercial success in Russia and won several awards at international film festivals.
