Selma, a former waitress, had been married to the crooked cop, Frank, for six years. Frank was involved in organized crime and was physically abusive towards Selma. One night, during an argument, he pulled out his gun and threatened to kill her. Selma managed to grab the gun and shoot Frank in self-defense.
Terrified and on the run from the law, Selma heads to her estranged sister Madison's house to seek refuge. Madison is shocked to see Selma after all these years and welcomes her in.
