When the rich and eligible American businessman, Will Darcy, and the charming British Indian business magnate, Balraj, arrive in the small town of Amritsar, Mrs. Bakshi sees them as her daughters' prospective suitors. Her eldest daughter, Lalita (played by Aishwarya Rai), initially finds Darcy rude and arrogant. Darcy, on the other hand, finds Lalita headstrong and stubborn.
The film follows the relationship between Lalita and Darcy as they navigate their misunderstandings and cultural differences. Apart from Lalita's and Darcy's love story, the movie also delves into the romantic pursuits of the Bakshi sisters. Jaya falls for Balraj's friend, the shy lawyer Mr. Kohli, and the youngest sister, Lakhi, falls for Balraj's brother, Johnny.
Bride & Prejudice features vibrant dance sequences and foot-tapping music, including Bollywood-style adaptations of popular songs like "No Life Without Wife" and "Take Me To Love".
