Breaking Fast is a romantic comedy-drama film that follows the life of Mo, a gay Muslim man who is trying to find love and heal from a recent breakup. The story is set in West Hollywood, where Mo lives with his best friend Sam, a non-practicing Muslim woman who is supportive of him.
During the holy month of Ramadan, Mo meets Kal, a charming and handsome All-American guy who is fascinated by Mo's faith and culture. Kal offers to break fast with Mo every day after sunset, and the two men soon develop a friendship that turns into a romance.
However, Mo is still dealing with the pain and trauma of his past relationship and is hesitant to open his heart to someone new. Kal, on the other hand, is fresh out of a divorce and is also a bit hesitant to start a new relationship.
As Mo and Kal get to know each other better, they begin to connect on a deeper level and find comfort and understanding in each other's company. They also learn to navigate their cultural and religious differences and find a way to make their relationship work.
