Based on Truman Capote's novella of the same name, Breakfast at Tiffany's features Audrey Hepburn in the role of Holly Golightly, an eccentric and flighty socialite living in New York City's Upper East Side.
Paul Varjak, played by George Peppard, becomes Holly's neighbor when he moves into the apartment above hers. He is a struggling writer, kept by a wealthy older woman, who takes a liking to Holly and finds himself drawn to her carefree and impulsive lifestyle. Holly refers to him as "Fred," after her brother, and the two form a close friendship.
