After the death of Murron, Wallace joins forces with other Scottish clans to resist the oppression of the English, led by King Edward "Longshanks." He becomes a legendary figure, inspiring the Scots to fight for their freedom. Along the way, he meets and falls in love with Princess Isabella, wife of the cruel Prince Edward.
Wallace's success in battle leads to his appointment as the Guardian of Scotland, a position which he uses to gather more allies and continue his quest for independence. However, he is eventually betrayed by a Scottish nobleman, Robert the Bruce, who switches sides and leads the English to victory at the Battle of Falkirk.
Despite this setback, Wallace continues to fight and is eventually captured and executed in a brutal manner. However, his death inspires the Scots to rally together and ultimately win the decisive Battle of Bannockburn, leading to Scotland's liberation from English rule.
Braveheart is a stirring tale of courage, love, and sacrifice, and is regarded as one of the greatest historical epics of all time.
