Brave Story is a Japanese animated movie directed by Koichi Chigira and released in 2006. The movie is based on a novel of the same name by Miyuki Miyabe. The story revolves around Wataru, a young boy who faces a traumatic incident in his life when his parents decide to divorce. As a result, Wataru's mother moves away with him to her hometown, leaving his father behind.
