Brain Freeze is a horror-comedy film directed by Julien Knafo that follows a group of residents in a gated community-like island called Beaucanton who are turned into zombies after a deadly virus is released from an experimental fertilizer. The virus was designed to speed up the growth of crops and plants, but it ends up having catastrophic effects on the humans who are exposed to it.
The film follows a teenager named Alexandre (Iani Bédard) and his little sister Marie (Marilyn Castonguay) as they try to escape the island before they too succumb to the virus. Along the way, they team up with a rag-tag group of survivors including a scientist, a chef, and a security guard who are also trying to escape.
As they navigate their way through the island and fend off the growing number of zombies, the group discovers that the fertilizer was created by a powerful corporation whose CEO, a sinister man named Robert Lapierre (Robin Aubert), will stop at nothing to cover up his company's involvement.
As the group races against time to find a way off the island, they must also contend with the fact that the virus is changing them in unexpected ways and that their chances of survival grow slimmer by the minute.
