Bowfinger

Comedy  United States of America

Bobby Bowfinger, played by Steve Martin, is a struggling filmmaker who has been trying to break into the movie industry for years. He has a script that he believes is his ticket to success, but he doesn't have the money to make the movie.

In a stroke of desperation, Bowfinger decides to film his movie without the knowledge or consent of Kit Ramsey, one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, played by Eddie Murphy. Bowfinger and his team work tirelessly to approach Ramsey's every move and capture him on film without his knowledge. Meanwhile, they use a look-alike actor to film scenes with the other actors.

As the production continues, Bowfinger must deal with escalating problems like diva-like behavior from his aging leading lady, played by Heather Graham, and the paranoid suspicions of Ramsey's body double, played by Eddie Murphy again.

The comedy of the film lies in the absurdity of Bowfinger's plan and the ridiculous personalities involved. The film is a satire of Hollywood and the movie industry, mocking the ego-driven actors, overzealous directors, and the cult of celebrity.

In the end, Bowfinger's plan succeeds, and he creates a blockbuster hit with the unwitting help of Kit Ramsey. The film is a hilarious and light-hearted romp through the world of filmmaking.
