Bounty Killer is a 2013 post-apocalyptic action-comedy film directed by Henry Saine. The film is set in a world where corporations have taken over the governments and created a new order for society. The Council of Nine emerged as the new ruling authority, and they issue death warrants for all white-collar criminals. Bounty killers, highly skilled assassins, hunt down these criminals and collect bounties for their deaths.
The film follows the story of Mary Death (played by Christian Pitre), a skilled bounty killer who seeks revenge against the corporations after they killed her family. Along with her partner Drifter (played by Matthew Marsden), Mary Death becomes embroiled in a conspiracy that threatens the balance of power in the new society. The pair must fight their way through a series of dangerous bounty killers, corporate lackeys, and brutal gangsters to uncover the truth and save the world.
The film also features a number of other notable actors, including Gary Busey, Eve, Kristanna Loken, and Beverly D'Angelo. The film received mixed reviews from critics but garnered a solid fanbase thanks to its over-the-top action scenes, dark humor, and unique take on the post-apocalyptic genre.
Bounty Killer was inspired by a graphic novel of the same name by writer Jason Dodson and artist Henry Flint. The film was produced by Just Chorizo Productions and Epic Pictures Group. It was released in theaters and on-demand on September 6, 2013.
