Anthony joins Dignan and their mutual friend Bob, and together they begin planning their crime spree. However, their amateurish attempts to carry out their plans often result in comedic misadventures. Along the way, Anthony becomes enamored with a hotel maid named Inez, who he tries unsuccessfully to woo.
As their plans start to fall apart, tensions rise between the three friends and they must navigate their complicated relationships. Eventually, they find themselves in a high-stakes situation involving Mr. Henry and a heist gone wrong.
Bottle Rocket was the directorial debut of Wes Anderson and features several of his trademark themes and aesthetics, such as quirky characters, deadpan humor, and carefully composed shots. The film also launched the careers of Anderson and his frequent collaborators Owen and Luke Wilson.
