Borotalco

Comedy  Italy

Borotalco is a 1982 Italian comedy directed by Carlo Verdone and starring Verdone, Eleonora Giorgi, and Christian De Sica. The film follows Sergio Benvenuti (played by Verdone), a socially awkward and introverted salesman for a record company who struggles to sell any albums due to his lack of confidence and poor people skills.

When Sergio's boss threatens to fire him if he doesn't start selling more records, he turns to Nadia (played by Giorgi), a street-smart and outgoing woman who agrees to help him improve his social skills and increase his sales. As the two spend more time together, they begin to develop feelings for each other, leading to a romantic subplot.

However, Nadia also has her own problems to deal with, as she is pursued by her abusive ex-boyfriend and is forced to confront her past traumas. Through their struggles and adventures, Sergio and Nadia both learn important lessons about themselves and each other, ultimately finding happiness and success in their own unique ways.
