Boris - Il film

Comedy  Italy

Boris - Il film is an Italian comedy film that is based on the TV series of the same name. The movie follows the director, René Ferretti, and his crew as they attempt to make a transition from the small to the big screen. René is a cynical and jaded director who is known for his work on low-budget productions and has been hired to direct a big-budget movie during the summer. The movie, called "La macchina del tempo 3", is a sequel to a popular science-fiction franchise and stars a famous and arrogant actor named Corinna Negri.

However, the transition to the big screen is fraught with challenges. The crew is constantly at odds with the incompetent and micro-managing producer, Leandro Amato, who hires a team of consultants to "improve" the movie and constantly interferes with the creative process. The cast is also difficult to work with, with Corinna making outrageous demands and refusing to follow the script. Meanwhile, René is dealing with personal issues, including a strained relationship with his girlfriend, a debilitating fear of flying, and the looming threat of a tax audit.

Despite the obstacles, René and his crew soldier on, determined to make the best movie possible. The film satirizes the film industry and its pretensions, from the incompetence of producers to the egos of actors, and the endless compromises of the creative process. The film features a host of colorful characters, including the overeager assistant director, the diva actress, the clueless consultants, and the hapless crew members. Boris - Il film is a hilarious and irreverent romp that pokes fun at the film industry while also celebrating the creative spirit and the determination of artists to overcome the odds and realize their vision.
