Bones and All is an upcoming drama film directed by Luca Guadagnino, based on the novel of the same name by Camille DeAngelis. The movie follows the story of a teenage girl named Maren Yearly, who has a strange and uncontrollable urge to consume the people she loves. Abandoned by her father at a young age, Maren sets out on a journey across America to confront her past and find a way to control her urges.
During her journey, Maren meets a young drifter named Lee, who becomes her closest ally and friend. Together, they face a series of challenges as they travel through the backroads of the country. As they get closer to their destination, they are forced to confront their pasts and the traumas that have shaped their lives.
The film features a talented cast, including Timothee Chalamet as Lee, Taylor Russell as Maren Yearly, Mark Rylance, and Andre Holland. The music score for the film is composed by Academy Award-winning composer, Ryuichi Sakamoto.
Bones and All promises to be a compelling and thought-provoking movie about love, otherness, and the human condition. It is slated to premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September 2021 and release in theaters later in the year.
