Blurt! is a 2018 Nickelodeon original movie, directed by Michelle Johnston, and written by Clayton Sakoda and Matt Solberg. The film features Jace Norman as Jeremy Martin, Daniella Perkins as Milly, JoJo Siwa as Victoria Martin, and Owen Joyner as Carl.
The story follows Jeremy, a nice and shy high school student, who finds a mysterious pair of virtual reality glasses at the mall. He puts them on, and suddenly he becomes unable to control his thoughts and speaks his mind out loud, which leads to embarrassing and often inappropriate situations. The glasses turn out to be a prototype created by a scientist named Dr. Epstein, who is searching for a test candidate.
Jeremy is running for student council president against his classmate Milly, who happens to be the most popular girl in school and has a lot of great ideas to improve the school. Jeremy, with his newfound ability to speak his mind, gains notoriety and becomes the center of attention, but he also starts to undermine Milly's campaign by criticizing her plans.
Desperate to get back to his normal self, Jeremy enlists the help of his younger sister Victoria. Together, they embark on a mission to find Dr. Epstein and reverse the effects of the glasses before it's too late. Along the way, they encounter Carl, a dedicated gamer who helps them navigate the virtual world.
Blurt! delivers a light-hearted, feel-good message about being true to oneself and finding the courage to speak up for what you believe in. It also features some fun and entertaining moments, as well as excellent performances by the talented cast.
