As the interior designer, Samantha, struggles to save her home renovation show from cancellation, she decides to take on a new project in the form of her blue-collar carpenter, Mike. Mike is sweet and talented, but his personal life is a mess - his home is a chaotic mess, and he struggles to communicate with others.
As Samantha spends more time with Mike, she starts to see the potential beneath his rough exterior. She begins to apply her successful "fixer upper" strategy to his life, helping him to organize his home, improve his communication skills, and even giving him a makeover to boost his confidence.
