Blue Sunshine is a 1978 horror-mystery film directed and written by Jeff Lieberman. The film explores the effects of a mysterious drug called Blue Sunshine, which was taken by a group of college students a decade prior to the events of the film. The drug causes violent, psychotic behavior and hair loss in its users.

The film follows Jerry Zipkin (Zalman King), a man falsely accused of three gruesome murders committed by someone who had taken Blue Sunshine. Jerry goes on the run to clear his name, leading him to investigate the source of the drug and its effects on the human mind and body.

As Jerry delves deeper into the mystery, he discovers that the drug was distributed by a former college friend, Edward Flemming (Mark Goddard), who is now running for political office. Flemming denies any knowledge of the drug's harmful effects, but Jerry starts to suspect that he may be involved in a larger conspiracy.

As the body count rises and more people turn into violent psychopaths, Jerry must race against time to uncover the truth and stop the spread of Blue Sunshine before it's too late.

Blue Sunshine is known for its inventive use of psychedelic imagery and unsettling horror sequences. The film's commentary on drug culture and society also makes it a unique entry in the horror genre.
