Clarisse is a young woman struggling with depression and feelings of purposelessness. Despite her difficulties, she decides to volunteer at a local women's shelter in order to give back to her community and potentially find some meaning in her life. It is there that she meets and befriends a survivor of domestic abuse named Lily. As they spend time together, Clarisse begins to realize that Lily is keeping secrets about her past and her reasons for seeking shelter.
Through a series of conversations and moments of vulnerability, Clarisse and Lily come to trust one another more deeply and Lily ultimately reveals the full extent of the abuse she suffered at the hands of her former partner. Clarisse is horrified by the violence and trauma Lily has experienced, but also inspired by her resilience and determination to rebuild her life. Over the course of the film, Clarisse herself begins to find hope and a renewed sense of purpose through her interactions with Lily and her work at the shelter.
Blossom is a moving and insightful exploration of the ways in which offering support and compassion to others can help us to heal and grow in the midst of our own struggles.
