Bloodsucking Freaks is a horror-comedy film directed by Joel M. Reed. The movie follows Sardu, a deranged master of the Theatre of the Macabre, whose shows involve torturing and killing people in front of an unwitting audience. His assistant, Ralphus, is equally insane and enjoys taking part in the grotesque performances.
However, what the audience believes to be mere illusions and special effects are, in fact, real acts of violence. Sardu and Ralphus kidnap women from the streets and use them as props in their twisted performances.
One day, a famous critic attends their show and becomes suspicious of the authenticity of their acts. He decides to investigate the theater and discovers Sardu's gruesome secret. Together with a kidnapped female victim, the critic tries to escape from the clutches of the lunatics.
The film has gained notoriety for its graphic violence and sexual content. It has been banned in multiple countries and faced censorship in others. Despite its controversial nature, it has gained a cult following over the years and is considered a classic of the exploitation film genre.
