Blood Rage is a horror movie directed by John Grissmer and released in 1987. The movie is set in Jacksonville, Florida, where twin brothers Terry and Todd are enjoying a Thanksgiving dinner with their mother and her boyfriend. Terry is a sociopath who enjoys killing people, while Todd is a reserved and innocent young man who takes the blame for Terry's violent outbursts.
In 1974, Terry commits a murder and frames Todd for the crime. Todd is sent to a mental institution, while Terry goes free and continues to live his life without consequence. Ten years later, Todd escapes from the institution on the same day that Terry’s homicidal tendencies resurface. As Terry goes on a killing spree, Todd desperately tries to clear his own name and stop his brother from causing more bloodshed.
The movie is known for its over-the-top gore and violence, including scenes of stabbings, shootings, and decapitations. The movie became a cult classic for its cheesy dialogue and low-budget special effects. The film was originally released under the title "Slasher" and later renamed "Blood Rage" for re-release.
Blood Rage stars Mark Soper (who plays both Terry and Todd), Louise Lasser, Marianne Kanter and Julie Gordon. It is a prime example of a slasher film from the 1980s, featuring a masked killer, graphic violence, and a high body count. Despite the film's low-budget nature, it has become a favorite among horror fans.
