Blood Mania

Horror  United States of America

Blood Mania is a 1970 horror film directed by Robert Vincent O'Neill and written by Peter Carpenter. The film stars Carpenter as Craig Cooper, a scheming young man who has been having an affair with his girlfriend Victoria's stepmother, Gerda Marsh (Maria De Aragon).

Gerda is a wealthy widow who lives in a luxurious mansion with her daughter Victoria (Vicki Peters). When Gerda finds out that she has a terminal illness and must give up her lucrative share in the family business, Craig convinces Victoria that they must speed up Gerda's death in order to inherit her fortune.

To carry out their plan, Victoria seduces her father's doctor (Alex Rocco) and convinces him to prescribe a lethal dose of medication for her mother. Meanwhile, Gerda begins to have hallucinations of a mysterious figure who may be connected to her past.

As the body count rises and the inheritance draws closer, Craig and Victoria's relationship becomes strained by their mutual paranoia and suspicion. In a thrilling finale, the identity of the mysterious figure is revealed and the characters face the consequences of their actions.

Blood Mania is a classic example of the exploitation genre, featuring gratuitous sex scenes and violence. However, it is also notable for its stylish cinematography and suspenseful pacing, making it a memorable entry in the world of cult horror cinema.
