Blood Bath is a horror film from 1966 directed by Jack Hill and Stephanie Rothman. The story revolves around a disturbed artist named Sordi, who is convinced that he is the reincarnation of a vampire. He uses his art studio as a cover to lure young aspiring actresses, whom he kills and then boils their bodies in a large vat of liquid.

Sordi's art studio is located in a crumbling old mansion in Venice Beach, California. He is aided in his twisted endeavors by a small group of female accomplices who assist him in the murders and dispose of the bodies. Sordi's madness is fueled by his obsession with an eerie painting of a woman that he believes to be his lost love from a previous life.

The film features a number of surreal sequences and dreamlike sequences, capturing the twisted and gruesome world of the killer artist. As the body count rises, a group of detectives and a reporter begin to investigate the murders, and the killer's cover is eventually blown. In the end, Sordi meets his demise in a violent showdown with the police.

Blood Bath was originally intended to be a short film called "Portrait in Terror," but production complications led to a longer, more complex feature film. Despite its low budget, the film received some positive critical attention, praised in particular for its moody atmosphere and imaginative cinematography. Today, Blood Bath is considered a cult classic among horror fans.
