Blood and Concrete is a 1991 American crime-comedy film directed by Jeffrey Reiner and starring Billy Zane and Jennifer Beals. The film follows the misadventures of Joey Turks (Zane), a dimwitted criminal who dreams of becoming a big-time mobster, and Mona (Beals), a troubled young woman struggling with drug addiction and suicidal thoughts.

Joey Turks is a hapless small-time crook who, after a failed robbery, finds himself on the run from the police. Fleeing through the streets of Los Angeles, he stumbles across Mona, who is in the midst of attempting to kill herself. Against all odds, they form a strange bond and decide to join forces, hitting the road and embarking on a wild journey to escape their troubled pasts.

As they travel through the desert, they encounter a cast of eccentric characters, including a disheveled hitchhiker played by Darren McGavin and a ruthless drug dealer portrayed by Benicio Del Toro in one of his earliest film roles. Along the way, Joey and Mona face a series of obstacles that force them to confront their own demons, including addiction, violence, and the consequences of their criminal ways.

Despite its dark subject matter, Blood and Concrete is a surprisingly light-hearted and witty film, full of clever one-liners and whimsical touches. Billy Zane delivers a standout performance as the lovable but bumbling Joey, while Jennifer Beals brings a raw intensity to her portrayal of the troubled Mona.
