Blizzard is a Canadian independent film released in 2003. It tells the story of a young girl named Jess who lives in the city with her mother. However, when her mother has to travel to Australia for work during the Christmas holidays, Jess is sent to live with her estranged father in rural Alberta.
Jess is initially disappointed to find that her father is a farmer living in a small and isolated town. However, she soon becomes fascinated by the local legend of an enchanted reindeer that lives in the nearby woods. According to the legend, the reindeer only appears to those who are pure of heart and can communicate with them through the northern lights.
As Jess tries to learn more about the reindeer, she meets a young boy named Christopher, who is also interested in the legend. Together, they explore the woods and try to catch a glimpse of the enchanted creature.
At the same time, Jess is also introduced to the world of figure skating by her father's girlfriend, who coaches a local girls' team. Jess is a natural talent on the ice, and as she practices, she begins to notice strange occurrences that seem to be related to the legend of the reindeer.
Eventually, Jess and Christopher discover the reindeer, who they come to call Blizzard, and learn that it needs their help. With the help of her skating skills and the northern lights, Jess must work to save Blizzard and restore the Christmas spirit to her father's town.
